Horrorfest 2006 pics and Whatnot

Friday we went and saw The Prestige. I left my phone at the restaurant and we had to go back for it. Geez.
Saturday morning I woke up with a horrible headache and eyeache. I took some advil and it went away, but I was left with a lingering feeling of slight ickiness the rest of the day. I got into Hoth Leia – the hair took longer than I expected – and we packed up and went over to the fairgrounds.

I didn’t get into my mando for the 1pm picture, because not only did I leave my armor and vest at chase’s apartment, but I left my gun in my car at chase’s apartment. LOL. So I stayed in Leia and took pictures. (So I was happy)
There was a dog show going in the building right next door. There were some absolutely beautiful dogs! (there’s some pics in my horrorfest 2006 gallery) The dog show folks seemed to be very entertained by us – it was suggested Leia should take Chewie over and try to enter. LOL

Anakin’s Stunt Double LMAO

I started feeling icky again later on – we decided to go on home and take a nap. I felt much better after that (plus two more advil) and we got ready to go to the zoo!
It took me forever to do my hair (again) – I decided not to wear my Belle wig but to try to do my own hair. Well my hair wasn’t cooperating. I finally got it to where I was somewhat happy with it and we started to go – and then Chase couldn’t find his wallet. It was the weekend of losing stuff, I swear. We looked for his wallet for a good 20 minutes before finally finding it in a chair.
I wore my purple cloak over Belle in case it was cold, but I didn’t need it – it ended up being a beautiful night, I wasn’t cold at all! Chase wore Vader, and we walked around outside for a long time looking for the rest of the SO. We finally found them and stood around for a while taking pics with kids. It was a lot of fun!

Vader in the elevator at the zoo…

The funny thing was, I wore Belle, which I thought would be more recognizable to kids – only I was called “Leia” just as much as I was Belle. I realise it’s because I was leading around a blind Darth Vader (it was too dark for him to see in the helmet) – so people see Vader, and a girl in a dress – oh it must be Leia. I dunno, go figure. I didn’t wear the wig this time, so I’m going to fix the wig up to wear when we go again next weekend – that should help keep my head warm, at least!

That was it for pics at the zoo. After having the camera out for a few minutes, I put it back in the voluteer room, because it was just too bulky to carry around.

Sunday! We weren’t sure if we were going to go back to Horrorfest on sunday, but decided to go up for a bit. I had been so hot at the con the day before in Hoth Leia, I had already decided to wear Slave Leia if we went on sunday. Well, the temperature dropped a lot in between, but I braved it anyway. It was actually pretty nice inside, but outside I was really cold, as you can imagine.

Nice pic of Chase walking

We did buy a couple of things over the weekend. Chase got the kotobukiya Vader statue, it’s really cool. I got the sideshow ESB Han, and a Han on tauntaun.

We decided to stay in sunday night, watch a movie, etc. it was nice.
I took a pic of my Leia belt – if you remember me talking after Dragoncon, I said that when I unpacked it there, it had some horrible damage on the front piece. Here’s a picture of it:

My Leia belt... which is being retired...

I’m going to have to patch it up again since I’m not going to have time to make a new one before Pumpkinfest this weekend – but I’ll have the new one done in time for the Christmas parades in december.

Here’s the whole horrorfest gallery, again.

And like I said this weekend is Pumpkinfest and another zoo visit, so more pics after that.

Oh, I got home monday afternoon and apparently mum had been bored and sewed part of my dorothy costume together. Sweet! LOL.
